Back at work and my desk didn’t tidy itself while I was away. Do I have any resolutions to keep it tidier? Ummmm… no. I think I’d be doomed to fail! Funnily enough, my digital desk is much more organised.
Recently I finished this book – The boy who harnessed the wind / William Kamkwamba. It’s a true story and a great story of triumph over adversity. It’s also a story of how libraries can change lives. William found a book in a library (formed from donations) and used the information he found to change the lives of his family and friends. I’ve sometimes wondered if donating our old books to countries like Africa is a good idea – this book changed my opinion.
Of course, the library was just the beginning for William – even though the librarian there gave him help with vocabulary the momentum had to come from himself. But it does make me think and wonder. Whose life could I change today?
